The Northern Lights – Norway

Is there anything more romantic than seeing the Northern Lights? This spectacular display of dancing beams is a once in a lifetime, must-see event and what a better time to do so than for your honeymoon. You can even stay in a glass igloo in preparation for this galactic disco. Fall asleep under the stars with your partner and celebrate your first married days with this truly spectacular, ethereal display.

Angkor Wat Temple – Cambodia

Cambodia is a beautiful country but one aspect that makes it particularly special is the number of elusive and archaic temples that are open to the public to venture around. The Angkor Wat Temple, which is believed to be the world’s largest religious monument, is the main attraction amongst this collection of temples. The temple is the heart of Cambodia and will provide a humbling and spiritually uplifting experience. A great way to kick-start married life.

The Inca Trail, Machu Picchu – Peru

If you’re after something a little more adventurous how about taking part in the most popular hike in South America, the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. Surrounded by rich, green vegetation and sloping hills, this infamous trail was once hiked by ancient inhabitants. Take a walk through history and start off your honeymoon with something adventurous. 

Bali – Indonesia

There is no doubt that Bali is an ideal location to spend your honeymoon. This island is known for being an island of love and offers so much more than just lazy beach days. If you head to the North East of Bali you’ll find Bangli, the home to Mount Batur, a beautiful active volcano that is 1717 metres high. 

You can trek to watch the spectacular sunrise, this does mean a 2am start and a long hike in the dark but the views are so worth it. Enjoy breakfast sitting on the ledge of the volcano and take in the views all around you. The rolling clouds beneath you make this a mystical and dreamy experience.

The Great Ocean Road – Australia

Why not spend part of your honeymoon on a road trip inAustralia? The Great Ocean Road is a beautiful, scenic route of winding roads encased by thick, tropical forest. This route provides exceptional views with the chance to stop off and take a dip in a number of waterfalls. Visit the infamous 12 Apostles and the Grampians National Park where you will be spoilt with 360 degree mountain views.

Thailand

Thailand offers the perfect combination of beach days, culture and traditional Asian cuisine. Spend your honeymoon hopping around the many different islands that Thailand has to offer. Spend a few days relaxing on the beautiful Koh Phi Phi. 

This island has some of the best snorkelling spots, so take a boat trip out to the surrounding bays and enjoy all the marine life below. After a couple of days head over to the more peaceful Koh Lanta, where you can explore the island by bike in only a few hours. Venture over to Krabi and stay by Railay Beach, this particular beach is the epitome of Thailand. The turquoise green water is encased by lush, jagged hills and really is picture perfect.

Sri Lanka

The small island of Sri Lanka has so much to offer and is the ideal location for a safari honeymoon. Spend the day being driven around in your own private jeep and see how many different animals you can spot. From elephants to crocodiles, you’ll be sure to see an array of wildlife.

Sri Lanka also houses some of the best surfing spots in the world, so why not take a surf camp and learn to surf the waves with professionals? Come away from your honeymoon having tried new, exhilarating things and be prepared to tell everyone at home all about it…
